Auto i Care released results of its latest survey suggesting that the number of road accidents has increased since the lockdown.

The company says an increase in road traffic has also resulted in a spate of accidents on our highways and roads. As of November 2020, Auto i Care has registered over 1.1 lakh requests in its Helpline app, of which 70,000 were calls to tow vehicles that were involved in an accident on the freeway. Auto i Care has received more than 22,000 calls during the night from around the country for towing assistance after an accident or car breakdown from November 2020 to date. At the same time, the company found that accidents more than doubled during the day, as nearly 50,000 calls for help were received on the highways.

According to Auto i Care’s records, the company received the most calls from metropolitan areas like Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, with the Financial Capita of India leading the way with 10,000 cases, followed by the National Capital with 8,000 service requests. In non-metro or semi-urban areas like Noida, Indore, Lucknow Auto i Care received fewer maintenance calls and more because of maintenance-related car breakdowns.
Sagar Joshi, founder of AUTO i CARE, said, “We have handled emergency calls from Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Goa, Calcutta, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, Hyderabad and other countries. Our team works around the clock to ensure that the right help is obtained. ” Vehicles were received within 20 minutes from the time of the call.
