A 37-year-old Kanmantoo man was charged with a serious car accident in Echunga.

At around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, May 7, police and ambulance services were called to Hawthorn Road in Echunga after a car reportedly left the street and crashed into a tree.

The Holden Red Captiva was manned by a 12 year old boy who was a passenger and the driver, a 37 year old Kanmantoo man.

The 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to the women’s and children’s hospital.

His injuries are not considered life threatening.

The Kanmantoo driver was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

He was arrested on Sunday May 9th and charged with serious injuries from dangerous driving and difficult driving without care.

He was released on bail to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on July 28th.

Major crash officers are investigating the crash.
