Automotive accident on Interstate 380 sends one to the hospital

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A two-car accident on Interstate 380 in Linn County sent a person to the hospital Friday morning.

At 7:48 a.m., the emergency services responded to an accident near I-380 heading south and mile marker 38.

Witnesses say a Toyota driven by Amadu Dawon of Waterloo in 2009 drove nearby in the left lane heading south and switched to the right lane, hitting the rear of a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis, that of Traci Speidel-Pflughaupt of Vinton was driven and forced the car into the west ditch.

Speidel-Pflughaupt was taken to a local hospital by Center Point Ambulance for allegedly minor injuries.

The accident is still being investigated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Linn County MPs, Center Point Fire, Urbana Fire, and Center Point Ambulance helped respond.
