Jaipur, Feb. 24 (PTI) The BJP called the state budget disappointing, claiming it did not meet the expectations of the people of Rajasthan, while ruling Congress leaders said each section was adequately focused in the budget presented by Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday .
BJP President Satish Poonia said the budget is no more than a cut and paste as new programs have been announced, as has previous budgets that are barely implemented locally.
“There’s a lot of contrast between announcements and their execution. The budget is like cut, copy and paste. It’s a cosmetics budget that has a good face but no good intentions,” Poonia said.
He said nothing was mentioned in the budget about regularizing contract workers and protesting against unemployed youth. Overall, the budget did not meet people’s expectations, he added.
Opposition leader Gulab Chand Kataria said old announcements in previous budgets for his own constituency had not even started and new ones had been announced.
“It has become their hobby to make announcements. They are only misleading because they do not have an adequate budget. This budget is nothing more than a bunch of lies,” Kataria said at a press conference.
On the other hand, the congress leaders have called it a holistic budget that took care of all parts of society.
Minister of Medicine and Health Raghu Sharma praised the budget, saying it was an unprecedented budget for overall development. He said the health budget will fulfill the dream of healthy Rajasthan.
Sharma said several innovations in medicine and health were announced in the budget. We will set a unique example in the country by putting a bill in the congregation to give everyone the right to health.
He described the Universal Health Care program as unprecedented from a health rejuvenation standpoint, costing Rs 3,500 crore as of the coming fiscal year. Under this system, each family in the state receives Rs 5 lakh health insurance.
President of Congress Govind Singh Dotasra said that CM Gehlot had presented a commendable budget that was all-encompassing and development-oriented.
To move the state forward on the path of progress, announcements have been made in the budget that put the public interest first, he said in a statement. PTI AG SDA HDA
