The A9 was blocked this afternoon following a two-vehicle accident on the Tain bypass.
At around 3:30 p.m., emergency services were called to report an accident involving two cars at the Knockbreck intersection near Asda.
Traffic Scotland warned motorists at 4:10 p.m. that the road was blocked in both directions, adding, “Be careful, traffic in the area is very slow.”
The police confirmed that traffic had accumulated on the busy trunk road after the accident, but were unable to provide any further information about injuries or vehicle types.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service brought two fire engines to the scene, one from Dornoch and one from Invergordon.
