The Florida Chiropractic Association’s National 2020, “the world’s premier chiropractic convention and exhibition,” has announced the postponement of its live event, scheduled to begin August 27, 2020 in Orlando, Florida. The new event date is November. 5-8, 2020, at the Hyatt Orlando.
“An overwhelming majority of FCA members, past attendees and exhibiting companies have asked us to hold this event live and in person and offer a virtual event component,” the FCA said in a statement. “We have heard you and we want to serve you in exactly this way and at the same time make responsible decisions in connection with the current COVID crisis. As you know, COVID statistics, media reports, and government policies currently prevent and impede travel, and many attend and exhibit FCA events from other states. With the recent surge in COVID, we now feel it is necessary to postpone The National 2020 and are working to set the new date from November 5-8 at the Hyatt Orlando. “
More than 80 internationally renowned speakers will be represented at the congress in November.
“Although there are obvious reasons for concern this year, the FCA is preparing preparations for 2020, which include the safest possible environment with appropriate protocols for social distancing and hygiene,” wrote Debra Brown Hagan, CEO of the FCA, in an article Event preview for Chiropractic Economics. “The FCA continues to strive to provide the best learning opportunities for the chiropractor and will leave no stone unturned to create a safe environment for you.”
The FCA says that for those who have pre-registered or made hotel reservations for The National 2020, the transition to the new conference date will be seamless and registrants will be updated via email.
“And for those who think 2020 is too early to attend an event, we kindly ask you to join us this year as we are offering our first virtual meeting and exhibition,” writes the FCA. “This option will be available at every event for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your support and understanding in the many challenges of this time. “
Registration for the new date from November 5th to 8th is possible until July 24th.
“This decision was not made lightly but with great consideration and concern for the health, safety and accessibility of attendees, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors and national executives participating in The National,” Hagan told Chiropractic Economics. “There has been a sharp rise in cases in the United States and Florida over the past week. Many companies have put travel restrictions in place, and some states have placed quarantine orders for those returning from Florida. Given these recent developments, we had no choice but to postpone the conference.
“Even with the necessary postponement of this year’s conferences due to these difficult times, we are continuing to work on offering the best possible educational offerings through live events, as requested by 70% of those surveyed. The coordination of virtual events is also offered to those who are not yet ready to attend in person. ”
