The organizers of the German FIBO, the international trade fair for fitness and wellness, have announced that the event from November 4th to 7th, 2021 will deal with key topics of the health and wellness industry such as digital health, health at work and hygiene.

FIBO is held in a hybrid format, ie the wide range of offers is available to visitors from all over the world both on site and digitally. A strong focus of the fair will be on the future of the fitness sector and individual solutions for coping with the COVID crisis.

Focus days: digitization, corporate health management and sports medicine

The central contact point for physiotherapists, therapists, club operators and trainers is the Health & Wellness Meeting Point in Hall 4.2. Through information on trending topics and advanced training courses with a focus on physiotherapy, the participants gain new knowledge with which they can win over and retain members and customers. On the agenda, however, there are also opportunities to successfully integrate new training and therapy concepts into your concepts.

This is where visitors to the Focus Days meet on the most important topics in physiotherapy and the health industry. The first day of the fair on Thursday will be about the challenges and opportunities of digitization and corporate health management as an important topic for the future. The latter has gained further momentum due to the pandemic. The focus of FIBO is the question of what the health programs of the future might look like, also against the background of an increasing number of people who work from home. In addition, information on trends in the areas of nutrition, digital health, mental health, medical fitness is provided as services for integration into one’s own areas and for (re) connection with members or customers. In addition, continuous training in the areas of therapy and digitization is offered.

On Friday, FIBO will focus on sports medicine and sports physiotherapy. On the agenda is an expert committee of the DGSP on the subject of “Exercise is Medicine”, at which the expert university professor Dr. Wilhelm Bloch, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. hc JM Steinacker and University Professor Dr. med. Bernd Wolfarth as well as lectures by speakers from the magazine sportärztezeitung and much more.

On Sunday, FIBO focuses on fitness & wellness and is aimed at end consumers, as this target group is also looking for inspiration and information for a healthy lifestyle.

Holistic approach to health

For the wellness and spa area, FIBO will work together with SpaCamp for the first time in order to address new target groups and to link the areas of wellness and health even more closely. The expert event SpaCamp has been a pioneering, independent think tank since 2010, providing impetus for topics such as spa, wellness and health.

In addition, contacts from the German Wellness Association are available for personal wellness and spa advice. The winners of the Wellness & Spa Innovation Awards 2021 will also be presented here on November 7th.

Strong partners from industry

Many partners from the fields of health, fitness, wellness and the hospitality industry will take part in this year’s FIBO, including the German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention, the Georg Thieme publishing house, the Federal Association for Corporate Health Management, the Prevention & Health publishing house and the German Wellness Association publishing house and professional association of yoga teachers. All of these partners will use their expertise to help advance the post-COVID industry and reach new target groups.

In cooperation with the DFAV, FIBO is organizing on Friday, November 5th, the project developed and organized by FIBO founder Volker Ebener, “From subscription to recipe – the path to systemic importance”. It will primarily revolve around any services that fitness clubs can give systemic importance to. This includes primarily the services of physiotherapists on medical prescription as well as all services by laypeople in the areas of rehabilitation and prevention, which are reimbursed by health insurance companies. These paths to success will be presented at this symposium.

In Halls 1, 4.2 and 5.2, numerous exhibitors will present innovations, concepts and best practices for the wellness and health market. Organized tours of the exhibition halls help visitors find exactly what they are looking for. For example, the tours focus on specific topics such as physiotherapy and hospitality.

Expert presentations by the most successful exhibitors and renowned partners in the Fitness & Health Corner in Hall 4.2 round off the program for the health sector and complement the range of exhibitors.

Sports medicine congress on FIBO Sunday

The Sports Medicine Congress is aimed at sports doctors and physiotherapists. Under the motto “When therapy becomes training”, this congress deals with the possibilities and potential of combined sports medicine applications. This day offers innovative and practice-oriented content on applied sports medicine with experienced doctors and therapists from competitive sports.

In November, FIBO and Europe’s leading conference for fitness technology, the FitTech Summit, will further expand their partnerships and address various topics of the future. This includes the synergies between holistic health and fitness. The discussions will also deal with the question of how technologies can relieve our future health systems.
