“So while you just sit here and relax in this very calm environment, you breathe in this salty air and it goes into your lungs and opens up your respiratory system.” -Dan Finn

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF-TV) – Get ready for a little Zen on your afternoon! We will take you to the beautiful Himalayan salt cave in Evans and tell you firsthand what it is like to sit in the relaxing and therapeutic space.

You may have driven away! It is located just behind the Lady A Pavilion in the Evans Towne Center. The Sol Salt Cave and Spa offers customers a full range of local body treatments and beauty products.

Today, let’s get some of the stress we’ve all felt over the past year.

The pandemic has created great fear for many of us … and the search for safe, socially distant activities. A local activity that’s just right for you even has therapeutic benefits! It is a dry salt therapy, or halotherapy, and dates back hundreds of years to Eastern Europe.

Co-owner Dan Finn says, “My best analogy is that when people go to the ocean, the salty air, the salt water, makes it easier for them to breathe and makes their skin feel better. This is obviously wet salt; What we do is dry salt therapy. We have a machine that crushes pharmaceutical salt and blows it into the air. As you sit here and relax in this very calm environment, inhale this salty air that enters your lungs and opens your airways. “

Salt therapy is said to have a number of health benefits, including relief from respiratory diseases such as asthma, allergies, bronchitis, and COPD. Halotherapy is also credited for relieving symptoms of colds and sinus infections, cystic fibrosis, ear infections, and skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea.

Michelle Grant, one of the owners of SOL, suffered from sinus problems for 35 years and had two surgeries … which only gave her temporary relief. Your personal experiences with salt therapy changed your life. She noticed a big difference after three weeks of daily sessions in the salt cave.

“Originally our cave was supposed to be a group setting, but we changed that. It’s only for you and your group. We have enough seating so that everyone can stay a meter away from each other and also sit on the actual salt floor. and one thing I am also trying to emphasize to people is that this is one of the most sterile places you can be as salt is also antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial. ”

Michelle and Dan explain Sol’s therapeutic benefits and services in the video posted above. For more information, call (706) 364-7958.
