LEXINGTON (CBS) – A woman in Lexington helps hundreds of families manage severe food allergies. Amy Thieringer is the creator and managing director of the ART Allergy Release Technique.

She started this holistic alternative treatment after almost losing her own son to a severe allergic reaction after eating a handful of cashews. She identifies which toxins are causing stress and then balancing gut bacteria with probiotics to reset an overreactive immune system.

“We’re working to strengthen and support the immune system and calm the fear response,” she said. “And then we slowly and safely introduce the food so that the child can freely eat the food in about three months.”
