Christine Andrew founded Holistic Health, Nutrition and Vacaville Thermography Inc. in 2006 after receiving a postgraduate nutrition diploma and certification in nutritional counseling. This year celebrates 15 years in business. In 2013 she received training as a thermographic technician.
“I’ve been celebrating eight years as a certified thermographic technician,” she says.
Andrew was a primary school teacher for 25 years. She says the health and nutrition portion of the science curriculum has always filled her with such joy and excitement as she taught her students “the jewels of healthy eating and what it takes to have a healthy body.”
“I was inspired to expand my knowledge of nutrition as I set out to regain my broken health,” she says. “By the age of 40, I felt like I was in an 80-year-old body struggling to survive the hormonal imbalances and bad gastrointestinal health problems instead of being at another high point in my life. After meeting with a homeopathic functional medicine doctor who got me out of that pit, I knew this was the next path for me. “
“I opened my functional nutrition practice ten years later,” she says. “Vacaville thermography was born from my own experience and knowledge of mammograms and the possible harm they can do to the body and health of women. After being introduced to thermography technology, I was thrilled to learn that there is an alternative and additional screening exam to determine cancer risk in the earliest stages. “
Andrew strives to restore the health of each of her clients every day.
Your advice to young professionals?
“The field of nutrition is changing, but don’t be tossed about what the media is saying or what’s popular or trendy,” she says. “Stick to healthy eating and science. Always research and read and expand your knowledge. Still, be open to new ideas, but test them to make sure they are right and right for each individual you work with. “
Andrew says she wants to be known for her compassion for the truth, listening skills, and great knowledge she takes time to pass on to her clients.
“I go far on behalf of my clients to find the root and source of their health concerns,” she says.
Outside of work, she focuses her energy on various services with the women in her church.
Andrew’s plans for the future are to continue doing business while educating people about health. She hopes her legacy will be that she “gave everything to serve those in need; that I had a heart of compassion and lived that compassion; that I persevered for each of my customers. “
