A traffic accident at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Resulted in the death of one Marine and injured two others, according to a press release from the 1st Marine Division Monday.
The accident occurred on Las Pulgas Road at around 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Sunday.
The deceased marine was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime, according to a press release.
One of the injured Marines was flown to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California, where she is being treated for her injuries.
The second injured Marine was checked into Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital and rated “not seriously injured.” According to the 1st Marine Division, he has since been released.
The name of the deceased Marine will be recorded until the next of kin can be notified.
“Our condolences go to the family, friends and loved ones who have been affected by this tragedy,” the statement said.
