Wichita Falls police caused a fatal accident near North Scott Avenue and Iowa Park Road Thursday morning. Emergency teams responded to a report of a single vehicle that rolled while North Scott was driving.

According to a press release from WFPD spokesman Sgt.Charlie Eipper:

The WFPD had a fatal accident around 3:00 a.m. this morning on the 1300 block of North Scott Street. The accident was a vehicle accident. The sole occupant, Anthony Prouty, 29, was expelled from the vehicle. A citizen and official performed CPR on duty until the emergency services arrived on site. Prouty was transported to URHCS, where he was pronounced deceased. The WFPD Accident Investigations Unit is investigating the crash. Thank you to the citizen who helped the officers perform CPR. This is a testimony of the love and care our citizens have for one another.

The area was closed while accident investigators and crime scene technicians photographed and documented the location of the wreck.

According to a previous Times Record News story, a man and woman were killed on Jan. 27 after a high-speed chase by a Wichita County MP resulted in a fiery crash near the same location.
