The girl is recovering from a serious injury in a Twin Cities hospital.
A Rogers girl is recovering at a Twin Cities hospital after being assisted by a vehicle driven by a young driver near a house near the intersection of Highway 101 and County Road 144 in that community on Easter Sunday.
According to the Rogers Police Department, the accident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on the 22000 block of Marie Ave., with first responders helping the girl before she was flown to a nearby hospital.
Rogers police reported that the girl was flown to hospital “out of caution” because the girl’s injuries were serious but not life threatening.
The girl was hit by a vehicle driven by a teenage man and she did not live in the residence, Rogers told PD.
Neither the age of the girl nor the driver was released.
“Rogers is a close community and we care deeply about our neighbors. This incident deeply affected many people living near this incident as well as our first responders, ”Rogers said PD in a press release. “Our thoughts and condolences go to those who were affected by this sad event.”
Rogers police will continue to investigate the accident, they said.
