A teenager from St. Tammany Parish is fighting for his life after a terrible car accident in Slidell. 17-year-old Ja’vari Johnson was due to start college next week. His mother, Tamika Johnson, said her son was on a ventilator recovering in the University Medical Center’s intensive care unit. She said Johnson drove with his friend as a passenger Monday night. The wreck occurred at Slidell on Howze Beach Road and Joseph Street Johnson was buckled up but has very serious injuries. He has a ruptured spleen and severe trauma to his eyes, ribs, and lungs. Johnson asks if another vehicle was involved. A spokesman for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
