A Sunderland mother starts a company that offers alternative therapies that dramatically change the lives and fortunes of her own family.
Claire Nicholson Bell created Dark of the Moon Holistic with support from the North East Business and Innovation Center (BIC).
Claire became convinced of the power of meditation after seeing the comfort it brought to her father when he was battling terminal cancer ten years ago.
Inspired by her father’s experience and her own healing experience after recovering from the punishment of IVF treatment for infertility, Claire created the holistic therapy center.
Dark of the Moon Holistic offers group, individual and virtual sessions, as well as a library of on-demand courses
Claire commented, “I wanted somewhere where I could build a sacred space. Somewhere clients can come to feel safe, positive, and heal. A friend of a friend recommended the BIC and I couldn’t believe what was on offer when I looked around.
“The location on the river is breathtaking – it’s a pretty magical place. I can’t believe the value for money you get here, the services offered and the facilities on your doorstep. I’m looking forward to building a community here with the other companies on site – it’s an exciting time. “
Donna Surtees, Center Manager at BIC added, “Claire is one of a new generation of businesses opening at BIC that is causing a stir across the park. We are very happy to welcome so many interesting and varied companies.
“Dark of the Moon Holistic is a great example of a lockdown business that is perfectly positioned to provide the kind of services that are in demand during these unusual times.”
