In Burton, a teenager was injured in a car crash.

The incident, which occurred last night, Tuesday, June 8th at around 9 p.m., occurred on Wyggeston Street in Horninglow. The boy had collided with a silver Kia Picanto on a bicycle, a police spokesman said.

An ambulance took care of the boy and treated him on the spot before he was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment for life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 9:03 pm last night to report a traffic accident involving a car and a cyclist on Wyggeston Street in Burton-on-Trent.

“An ambulance came and found a teenage boy with injuries that were not considered life threatening. He was treated on site before being taken to Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.”

Now Staffordshire Police are calling on all witnesses who saw the incident to come forward with information while they investigate what happened.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We received a call at 9:10 pm to report a collision with a silver Kia Picanto and a child on a bicycle on Wyggeston Street in Burton. The child suffered head injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

“Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter using incident number 829 on June 8, call 101, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
