The Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church, where Allison Sherman Brown is Director of Church Life, posted this article on Facebook about the Lower Currituck accident on the morning of March 22nd, in which Allison’s mother Barbara was killed and her father Rick was left seriously injured Hospital.
The shrine in the church had opened this morning “to pray for Allison Sherman’s father, Rick. Rick will be operated on at 2:00 a.m. today to repair the injuries in yesterday’s car accident in which Allison’s mother, Barbara, came home to be with the Lord. Please keep the Sherman / Brown family in your prayers as they navigate these days of loss and hope. “Allison’s husband is Scott Brown, financial advisor and past chairman of the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
In a Facebook post this morningAllison said, “My only reason for this contribution is to ask for prayer for him. We’re in intensive care with dad. Today he will have his first operation at 2 p.m. It’s stable, but still critical. He has many broken bones in his body and now needs help breathing, but we hope he can do this on his own soon in a few days. The greater prayer is for his heart. He and my mother shared a heart and last night he found out she was gone. We know she is happy and pain free, even though we already miss her so much. “
