The Bamford Spa at the Ritz-Carlton in the Maldives
The Ritz-Carlton Maldives on Fari Island recently announced that it will partner with the holistic wellness brand Bamford when it opens on June 1, 2021
The modern spa was designed by Kerry Hill Architects and blends seamlessly with the natural splendor of the Maldives by taking inspiration from the turquoise waters that surround the resort.
The ring-shaped wellness center sits enthroned over the water and invites guests and travelers to experience a total of nine different spa treatment rooms – including a spa suite with its own relaxation lounge, a salon and a boutique.
Treatments include a variety of typical massages as well as body and skin care products – but with Bamford’s holistic healing benefits, including the Bamford Ultimate Signature Treatment, a special wellness experience that combines targeted ancient techniques designed to improve general wellbeing.
The immersive treatment includes an Epsom salts foot bath ritual that removes toxins from the body while absorbing magnesium and reducing inflammation. From there, the guests enjoy a Japanese Shiatsu massage, during which “the meridians of the body are opened” in order to release the energy channels.
Next up is the Swedish massage, which targets problem areas and relieves certain points of tension before placing a heated chakra stone on the stomach for a gentle abdominal massage that is said to improve intestinal health and digestion.
The experience then moves on to a face and Indian head massage to soothe the mind and increase blood flow to improve both the condition of the scalp and hair, before finishing with a special assisted yoga breath to treat the Improve oxygen levels and at the same time revitalize the entire body.
While the immersive massage touches on holistic health and wellbeing, it also contains fully organic ingredients that have been certified to the highest standard by the Soil Association. All ingredients for this massage and for the entire spa also come from responsible sources and are free from parabens, SLS and mineral oils.
