STOCKTON, IL (KCRG) – Two people were rushed to hospital in rural J Daviess County on Thursday afternoon after a car accident.
According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 Dispatch Center received a call at 12:18 p.m. about a two-vehicle accident and injuries.
The crash occurred on Highway 20 about half a mile east of South Willow Road in rural Stockton.
According to authorities, Darron E. Delancy, 30, of Darlington, South Carolina, drove a black 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 and headed east on Highway 20 while JoAnne T. Diehl, 60, of Elizabeth, Illinois, was also behind Delancy heading east drove blue 2017 Ford Escape.
When Delancy slowed his vehicle to turn right off the road into a construction site, police said Diehl did not stop their vehicle and left Delancy’s truck behind. Diehl’s car then overturned after hitting the truck.
Stockton Ambulance and Warren Ambulance Services transported Diehl and Delancy to Freeport Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Diehl is accused of not slowing down to avoid a crash. Delancy was accused of driving with a suspended driver’s license.
The crash is being investigated further.
