The University of Misericordia will sponsor a three-part webinar on holistic care for elderly priests during the pandemic.

The virtual presentations are part of the university’s annual workshops for the elders and diocesan priests who foster a broad, robust network of strong support to care for aging clergy in religious communities and dioceses.

“Mind, Spirit & Body: Holistic Care of Elder and Diocesan Priests Amidst COVID-19″ will take place on June 18th. The first session (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT), led by David Hage (MSW, LCSW, ACSW, C -ASWCM) will be “Strategies for Combating Depression, Anxiety, and Social Isolation in a COVID-19 World ” to treat.

From 2pm to 3pm, the webinar will deal with the topic “Pastoral and Spiritual Effects of Our Losses in a COVID Environment: Grief and Healing”. Moderators will be Maryknoll Brother Wayne J. Fitzpatrick (MS, MA, C-GCM) and the Dominican nurse Mary C. Hopkins (MS, CRPS, CGT).

The final section, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, is about “The Wisdom of the Body: Teach Us the Connection Between Body, Mind and Spirit” with moderator Dayna Larson-Hurst, RN, MSOD.

The workshops are free and participants can attend one, two, or all of the sessions. Religious and lay people who serve senior clergymen – such as administrators, counselors, health workers, geriatric professionals, pastoral workers, social workers, and retirement planners – are encouraged to attend.
