SRINAGAR: The Kashmiri Doctors’ Association (DAK) said in a statement on Sunday that timely and effective measures by the JK administration against the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic have saved large numbers of lives.

President DAK Dr. Md Yousuf Tak said the LG-led government’s holistic approach to modernizing health infrastructure, decentralizing health services and installing oxygen systems in rural hospitals has proven to be groundbreaking for the Union Territory of JK.

Dr. Tak appealed to people eligible for vaccination to vaccinate as soon as possible, the sooner the better. The only way to get rid of this devastating pandemic and resume normal pre-Covid-19 life is through mass vaccination, which has been shown to be very effective in falling case numbers and Covid deaths around the world.

The Secretary General of the DAK, Dr. Owais H Dar said the people’s collaboration and responsibility in containing the pandemic was commendable. People in general have fully cooperated with the administration and have sacrificed much to save humanity. But we must not slacken our vigilance and must continue to follow Covid-Appropriate Behavior in letter and spirit until this Corona virus disappears from our community.
