(WFRV) – They are your local chiropractic experts, and at the Wyss Family Clinic of Chiropractic Health they realize that overall health includes good nutrition.

Doctors Julie and Skip show Local 5 Live how preparing your own baby food doesn’t have to be intimidating.

Homemade baby food

Organic vegetables: green beans, carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, sweet potatoes

Organic fruits: apples, pears

Clean vegetables. You can steam the vegetables or bake them in the oven. When the oven is on, throw some veggies in too! Feel free to season slightly!

Clean fruit. Peel and cut into pieces. Put in the oven and save the baking dish.

You can add a little water to avoid browning the floor.

Steam or bake at 350 degrees until soft and mushy. Remove from oven and allow to cool. After cooling, place in the food processor / ball and puree until smooth. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze. After freezing, transfer to freezer-safe containers. You now have simple and serviceable meals for your little one.

Let sit to thaw to serve, pan to heat or microwave.
